Work underway on Abbey Manor addition
03 April 2008
Rok, the Yeovil building and maintenance company, has started work on the latest addition to the Abbey Manor Business Centre. Rok is already familiar with Abbey Manor - not only did it build the original business centre which opened six years ago, but its Yeovil office is based there.
Located in the grounds of the 600-year-old Grade 1 listed Abbey Manor House on Preston Road on the edge of the town, the new stand-alone building, called Granary Court, is being built on behalf of property company the Abbey Manor Group. It will provide a further 1,800 sq ft of modern, air-conditioned office space that can be split into two, three of four suites depending on demand, available on flexible, all-inclusive leases. To complement its historic surroundings, the project will be traditional stone construction and feature an oak truss roof. It is due to be completed in June.
John Timmis, director of the Abbey Manor Group, which is also based at Abbey Manor, said: "Abbey Manor Business Centre has been a huge success and provides an excellent working environment. The new offices are all available on flexible easy in, easy out terms and we are expecting a lot of interest from potential occupiers."Steve Bradley, Rok's Yeovil area leader, said: "We have a long association with the Abbey Manor Group and we're delighted to be working with them again on a project that is quite literally on our doorstep. Granary Court combines modern office space with traditional construction and we're looking forward to completing the project this summer."Rok's Yeovil team operates across Somerset, Dorset and West Wiltshire and undertakes projects of all sizes from routine maintenance through to new build developments. The team is particularly active in the affordable housing, education, health and leisure sectors.
