News Information - Chamber Campaigns

The Chamber is committed to working with the authorities and Town centre Partnership to maintain and improve on Yeovil Town Centres already excellent range of shops and services.

The Partnership is driven by Town Centre Manager. One of its biggest successes has been a highly successful anti crime scheme, which has it's roots in the Radio Link project - a system which itself was originally introduced some years ago by the Chamber of Trade! This type of unity between the Chamber and the Partnership is common and helps Yeovil by working for the common good, not by creating any organisational rivalry.

The Chamber also believes that one of the areas of greatest potential is the so called 'Eastern End' of Yeovil town centre. To that end we are committed to working with the Town and District Councils to be a force for real change in this area. Marie Ainsworth of South Somerset District Council is spearheading improvement projects for this part of Yeovil and the Chamber has been delighted to support her efforts where is can. This was tangibly demonstrated when the Chamber offered £250 towards the cost of installing extra litter bins in the East End area.
