Chamber challenges Yeovil businesses to "Go Green"
13 March 2008
The Chamber is challenging Yeovil companies to make Yeovil the greenest town for business in the south west. The Chamber is urging all local businesses to save themselves money and help the planet by adopting enviromentally friendly business practices such as reducing energy consumption, packaging and waste. The Chamber is promoting practical ways to make a real difference to the enviroment and can provide members with help and support to look at their own practices and those of their suppliers. Businesses are encouraged to share their ideas and experience through the Chamber network and businesses who have been successful in reducing their environmental impact are given public recognition.
Chamber Vice President David Woan says "South Somerset District Council have achieved one of the highest levels of domestic recycling in the country. As business leaders its now up to us to show that we can achieve the same in the business environment. I have been impressed by huge efforts being made by many Yeovil companies to reduce their carbon footprint and the Chamber is challenging every business to think about how they can make small changes that make a real difference."
