As we are unable to provide a factory tour, we will be having our second 'Spotlight Focus' session where we invite a manufacturing company to share their company story with the group, highlighting their top three pain points and sharing their best success stories.
Spotlight Session:
We're delighted to be joined by Paul Senior, Head of Industry and Supply Chain at Thales. Paul is located in Templecombe and will provide an insight in to Thales and his role within the company.
Templecombe is one of the Thales Group’s leading under water technology sites, manufacturing sonar and sensors for the Royal Navy fleet as well as other international navies. Plessey Naval Systems began in Templecombe in 1965 as the Marine Systems Research Unit of the Marine Systems Division of the Plessey Company. With Thales’s investment, the site has now become a centre of excellence in anti-submarine warfare, minewarfare and submarine technology.
Discussion Topic
Paul Sealey, Director Of Employer Engagement at Yeovil College will be leading a discussion around skills development within the manufacturing industry outlining what support is available to businesses. The past year has been incredibly challenging and the Government have put into place a number of skills based interventions ranging from support for employing individuals, upskilling, re-skilling and apprenticeships. Paul will kick off the discussion with a short presentation about how your business can benefit and we will then turn to the businesses on the call to form a discussion.Event Agenda

M-Hub's Mission Statement
"Bringing together local engineering and manufacturing businesses for shared learning, supply chain opportunities, and business support. With the purposes to increase standards and grow the industry in and around the Yeovil area."
What is the spotlight session?
This is a 20-minute section within the M-Hub meeting reserved for a smaller business that doesn’t have the capacity to host or provide a factory tour around their business premise. This gives the company an opportunity to educate the other members on a history of who they are and what they do. Along with sharing success stories and pain points.
What is the format of the ‘Spotlight’ segment?
A business has 20-minute to present. This should include a quick historic overview, who they are and what they do. We recommend that you share your top 3 pain points and their best success story. There will also be a 10-minute slot after your presentation for a Q&A session.
What will I gain from presenting a Spotlight session?
You will gain wider promotion/awareness to all your fellow M-Hub members. We also feel this is the perfect platform for the smaller engineering and manufacturing businesses to have a voice to discuss their business, what they do well, and what areas they would like more help/support.
More importantly, we feel that by voicing your top three pain points and having them discussed in the Q&A session, there this an opportunity for shared learning to help you and others who may be experiencing similar issues.
How do I book my company for a Spotlight Session?
