QNUK Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) Requalification
For high risk work environments, the QNUK Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) course fulfills the requirements for first aid in the workplace. The course is a regulated qualification meaning no due diligence. This three day course is perfect for those workplaces with high foot fall, a large number of staff or specific dangerous activities. This course is required for high risk work environments by the Health & Safety Executive.
The course goes through a number of different areas of first aid including the roles and responsibilities of a first aider within the workplace. Then onto how to manage a casualty who is unconscious (Recovery Position, CPR and defibrillation). Then conscious casualties who are choking; what to do when someone is bleeding externally and goes into hypovolemic shock, how to manage a seizure and how to treat a burn.
Building on from the above we then start going into the conscious casualties. We start looking at major injuries such as fractures, sprains and strains, spinal, head and body trauma. As well as that the course then goes into major illnesses, being able to recognise and diagnose heart attacks, stroke, epilepsy, diabetes, anaphylaxis and poisoning.
From an employers this is perfect for a business whereby accidents are minimal. For learners, this will give them the knowledge and confidence to help a casualty when required. After the course there is a 40 question multiple choice exam to confirm the learners knowledge. There will be assessments throughout the day on all the physical aspects of the course.
We run this event every two months in Taunton and all learners receive an individual training pack. This includes a training bandage, a faceshield, triangular bandage, pen and hand gel. Taught by professional and knowledgeable trainers, we pride ourselves on the quality of our training.
