Are we in recession?

Recession is usually defined as when Gross Domestic Product (GDP) falls for two quarters in a row. We’ve narrowly avoided it, with a fall in GDP in Q3 followed by 0% growth in Q4 2022. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) thinks our economy will shrink in 2023, and there’s no argument that we’re experiencing tough times with inflation running at over 10%, and food, bills and housing costs much higher.
