First Aid in your COVID-Safe Workplace

Ash at YITC will be giving businesses and first aiders up to date information about what has changed in first aid since lockdown. As we all start to move back to a type of normality it is important that businesses keep themselves, their first aiders and the general public understand their needs for first aid, and how businesses can reduce the risk of treating casualties. The first half of the talk will be dedicated towards business owners and what they need to do for their first aiders, the second half will be for designated first aiders and the changed to current protocols. He will also be advising what to expect from a first aid course post COVID-19.

In this session he will cover:

• How employers can ensure their first aiders safety at an incident
• Employers legal responsibilities in regards to first aid including additional equipment
• What has changed in first aid in light of COVID-19
• How to give effective treatment without increasing risk to first aiders
• What your expectations should be when attending a first aid course
