The future of Yeovil Chamber
Released On Today
Dear Member,
We are writing to share an important update about the future of Yeovil Chamber and what it means for you as a valued member.
Despite considerable effort and outreach, we have been unable to appoint a suitable candidate for the voluntary role of President. As a result—and to avoid the loss of all the progress and hard work invested in Yeovil Chamber over recent years—the Executive Committee has taken the considered decision to transfer the day-to-day running of the Chamber to Somerset Chamber of Commerce.
This has not been an easy decision, and we want to express our sincere thanks to Somerset Chamber for working closely with us to find the best possible outcome. This collaboration ensures continuity for our members, while also opening up new opportunities across Somerset, Dorset and beyond.
What this means for you:
- From now on, all Yeovil Chamber events will be managed by Somerset Chamber and must be booked via their website: www.somerset-chamber.co.uk.
- As you are already a member of Somerset Chamber, the process will be automatic and no action is required by you.
- Any fees for event bookings already paid for future 2025 Yeovil Chamber events will be either refunded or transferred to Somerset Chamber—depending on your preference.
- Somerset Chamber will also take over running of the popular Breakfast Circle from October 2025, ensuring this valued networking event continues uninterrupted.
We’re confident this change will not only protect what Yeovil Chamber has built but also offer even greater value to our members—connecting you to county-wide opportunities including large-scale projects such as Agratas, Hinkley Point C, and other county-wide and cross-border opportunities.
Continuing the Work of Yeovil Chamber:
We’re pleased to confirm Somerset Chamber are in the process of progressing the continuation of key sector-based initiatives, including:
- The Manufacturing & Engineering Hub (M-Hub)
- The Hospitality Hub
- Access for Yeovil-based businesses to the Construction Connections networking group
We will be contacting members of these Hubs in due course with further details.
Continuing the Work of The Digital Hub:
The Digital Hub will continue under the leadership of Richard Howes, who will operate it independently. As Somerset Chamber is already a key stakeholder in Digital Somerset, this ensures joined-up support for the tech and digital business community. Richard will be in touch separately with members of the Digital Hub to confirm future plans and how to book events.

We know this marks a significant change in the work of Yeovil Chamber and the support for Yeovil based businesses, but we are confident it’s the right one to ensure the work of Yeovil Chamber not only continues but thrives within a larger, well-resourced organisation.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss your membership or event payments, please contact the Somerset Chamber team at membership@somerset-chamber.co.uk or 01823 444924.
Thank you for being part of Yeovil Chamber. Your continued support is what has made everything we’ve achieved possible.
